At a conference in Seville on 29th November the results of the international competition for Best Science Based Incubator 2007 were announced.
The Midlands Innovation and Research Centre at Athlone Institute of Technology ranked second in the overall award for New Incubators.
The yearly Best Science Based Incubator award is organized by Science Alliance, in cooperation with the Centre for Strategy and Evaluation Services (CSES) and Gate2Growth.
The 2007 competition included incubators from seventeen countries.
The overall Best Science Based Incubator 2007 award went to the Wallonia Space Incubator (Belgium). Other recent winners of the overall award have included the First Flight Venture Centre (US), Symbion Science Park (Denmark) and I3P the campus incubator of the University of Torino (Italy).
